Fall 2025 Co-op | Design Intern
Tread pattern design and strategy
During the fall of 2025, I interned at Bridgestone, one of the world’s leading tire and rubber manufacturers. Based at the Americas Technology Center in Akron, Ohio, I collaborated with the design studio team, who specialize in designing tire tread patterns and sidewalls.
My time here consisted of:
Developing a design strategy to differentiate Bridgestone tire lines, focusing heavily on aesthetics and customer appeal
Applying the developed strategy to tread pattern design
Rapidly generating concepts and surveying designs to test the design strategy application and receiving feedback from the design team throughout
By the end of my time at Bridgestone, I had created a tread pattern using my developed design strategy. My design is currently in the process of receiving a patent, therefore I cannot share it yet.
